<Katana  Swordsmith and sword feature>
Swordsmith Minamoto Tsunahiro 源綱廣 who was born in Ise province, his first inscription name was Yoshihiro 吉廣 then named himself Tsunahiro after he moved to Kyoto(Rakuyo is Yamashiro, Kyoto).
He was given a title" Omi no Kami" around Kanbun period - early Edo (1661-1673).

First part of Mei "Oite Rakuyo 於洛陽" whiich means "at Rakuyo = Kyoto" suggests this sword was made soon after he moved to Kyoto and changed his smith name from Yoshihiro 吉廣 to Tsunahiro 綱廣.
NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper says the Katana was made in Kanbun 寛文 era.

<Appearance>
It has an ordinary blade weight and a width, Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune. The curve is shallow and the blade top is Nakamine.

<Hada - Forging>
The jihada (body of the sword) is a tightly forged Itame 板目肌 mixed with Masa and coarse Jinie(darkish crystal)granule attaches on the surface.

<Hamon - Temper patterns>
Yakidashi resembles the edge of mount Fuji then turns to Kengyo 拳形(triangular or pointed)-like Choji with abundant Sunagashi activities, Nijuba(double or second line of Hamon, consisting of Nie or Nioi, drawn parallel to the main Hamon).
In the Hamon Yo and Kinsuji(golden line) appears.
Boshi- temper line of the tip is Midarekomi(wavy) and turns back to a gentle curl called Komaru.

<Nakago - Tang>
The Tang is Ubu(original) and has Kiri file marks 切鑢. Nakago end is Kurijiri shape.

<Habaki-Metal collar>
Gold gilded copper base, single layer Habaki.

<Koshirae - Mountings>

Tsuba: Round Shakudo base(copper and gold alloy) Tsuba with polished surface 赤銅磨き地献上鍔.
Fuchi: Nanako pattern Shakudo base piece with " Swallowtail butterfly" family crest.
Kashira: Made of buffalo horn.
Menuki: Nanako pattern Shakudo base, with " Kiri Mon" family crest.
Tsuka: Covered with ray skin with Oyatsubu and wrapped with brown pure silk in Morohineri-maki style.
Saya: Kuro- lacquered in black. A spare Shirasaya comes with this sword.

<Blade Condition>
Polish: In good condition.
Defects such as openings, chips and cracks: None.

<Wakizashi  Swordsmith and sword feature>
Mitsukuni光國 was born in Kaga 加賀 province and belonged to Darani school 陀羅尼派. Smith name Mitsukuni had been passed to the forth generation through very early Edo to Genroku period.
This sword was made by second generation Mitsukuni around Kanbun period 寛文((1661-1673).

<Appearance>
Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune. The curve is Toriizori style and the blade top is Omine.

<Hada - Forging>
The jihada (body of the sword) is Itame 板目肌 with a running tendency then becomes Masa around Habuchi(the border between the Ji and the hamon). Coarse Jinie(darkish crystal)granule attaches on the surface.

<Hamon - Temper patterns>
The Hamon is Togari Gunome with brilliant nie white crystals attaches abundantly(Nie deki 沸出来) on the cutting edge.
In the Hamon Suna-nagashi shows it's flowing sand-like pattern while Ginsuji(whitish silver line) runs through along the temper line as well as Kinsuji showing up around the middle.
Boshi follows temper line and turns back to a gentle curl called Komaru.

<Nakago - Tang>
The Tang is Ubu(original) and has Sujichigai file marks. Nakago end is Kurijiri shape.


<Habaki-Metal collar>
Gold gilded solid copper, single piece.

<Koshirae - Mountings>
