<Swordsmith and sword feature>
Smordsmith Kunitsugu, real name Tanaka Shunji 田中俊二 learned under his father smith Norikuni 範国. He lives in Tokushima prefecture.
This wide and stout sword takes a wonderful balance also was tightly fitted with Giheiya original Koshirae.
For the best Tameshigiri performance, we recommend a new polishing.

<Appearance>
This sword is thick and heavy, Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune 鎬造り庵棟. The curve is Toriizori style and the blade top is Omine 大鋒.
There are Katachiri Bohi(thick groove which extends to shinogi,leaves flat space only on Mune side) on both side of the blade.

<Hada - Forging>
The Jihada (body of the sword) is a tightly forged Itame mixed with Masa 柾 and coarse Jinie(darkish crystal)granule 地沸 attaches on the surface.

<Hamon - Temper patterns>
The Hamon is Ogunome Midare and rich in Nie and Nioi which is quite clear and splendidly bright.
In the Hamon abundant Suna-nagashi shows it's flowing sand-like pattern with Kinsuji(whitish golden line) Yo and ashi activities appear.
Boshi- temper line of the tip is Midarekomi(wavy) and turns back to a gentle curl called Komaru.

<Nakago - Tang>
The Tang is Ubu(original) and has Sujigai file marks. Nakago end is Kurijiri shape 栗尻.

<Habaki-Metal collar>
Gold gilded silver single piece Osaka Habaki.

<Koshirae - Mountings>
Koshirae(mountings) was fitted newly by Giheiya, please check the detail pictures.

Tsuba: Round iron base Sukashi Tsuba with a motif of dragon(New).
Fuchi Kashira: Engraved dragon and cloud on silver base(New).
Menuki: Engraved dragon and cloud on silver base(New).
Tsuka: Cherry wood base, covered with ray skin with Oyatsubu and wrapped with black pure silk in Morohineri-maki style(New).
Saya: Kuro-ishimenuri - a rough textured black lacquerer finish Saya with 15cm bakelite reinforcement inserted starting from Koiguchi on Ha side(New).

<Blade Condition>
Polish: There are some Hike and dents on the cutting edge(not Hakobore).
Defects such as openings, chips and cracks: There is a tiny Ware which can be taken off by a full Togi.
