<Swordsmith and sword feature>
Swordsmith Miike Ju Yasumitsu 三池住安光, real name Komiya Akimitsu 小宮安気光 was born to famous Komiya family in 1956. His father is smith Komiya Kuniharu小宮国治 and his son is smith Komiya Kokuten 小宮國天.

This piece was made as an Iai Shinken with light weight and nice sori. There are thin, tiny rust spots which will be almost invisible with regular sword maintenance using proper Uchiko and clove oil.
It will take better balance if fitted with a longer Tsuka. We gladly offer 25% discount for a new Tsuka with choices of length, wrapping material and wrapping style.

It has an ordinary blade weight and a width, Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune. The curve is Toriizori style and the blade top is Nakamine.
There are Katachiri Bohi(thick groove which extends to shinogi,leaves flat space only on Mune side) on both side of the blade.

<Hada - Forging>
The jihada (body of the sword) is Itame板目肌 with running tendencies and coarse Jinie(darkish crystal)granule attaches on the surface.

<Hamon - Temper patterns>
The Hamon is Choji with abundant Ashi acativities and Nioi which is quite clear and bright.
In the Hamon Kinsuji(whitish gold line) runs through along the temper line.
Boshi- temper line of the tip is Midarekomi(wavy) and turns back to a gentle curl called Komaru.

<Nakago - Tang>
The Tang is Ubu(original) and has Kesho(decorative) file marks. Nakago end is Haagari Kurijiri shape.

<Habaki-Metal collar>
Solid copper single piece Habaki in Shonai style.

<Koshirae - Mountings>
please check the detail pictures.

Tsuba: Round iron base Sukashi Tsuba with a motif of pine tree.
Fuchi Kashira: Iron base set with Higo style line representing mountain path.
Menuki: Engraved chrysanthemum.
Tsuka: Covered with black dyed ray skin and wrapped with black leather in Morohineri-maki style.
Saya: Hanzame Kuroro (new Saya)

<Blade Condition>
Polish: Although the blade seems "cloudy" due to Furutogi, there is no trace of rust .
Polish: There are tiny, thin rust spots due to Furutogi.
Defects such as openings, chips and cracks: There is a very small Masaware on Sashiura side.
