<Swordsmith and sword feature>
Swordsmith Hishu Ju Uhei, real name Kawaguchi Uhei 川口宇兵衛 was born in 1903 and made swords in Miyazaki prefecture.
This sword has an unique feature of Itame-Hada mixed with Nie and has a very good balance.... it will be an honest Iai partner for practitioners.

<Appearance>
It has an ordinary blade weight and a width, Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune. The curve is Toriizori style and the blade top is nakamine.
There are Katachiri Bohi(thick groove which extends to shinogi,leaves flat space only on Mune side) on both side of the blade.

<Hada - Forging>
The jihada (body of the sword) is a Itame mixed with Masa and coarse Jinie(darkish crystal)granule attaches on the surface.

<Hamon - Temper patterns>
The Hamon is Choji with abundant Ashi activities.
Kinsuji(golden line) runs through along the temper line as well as Ginsuji(whitish silver line) showing up along the cutting edge.
Boshi- temper line of the tip is Midarekomi(wavy) and turns back to a gentle curl called Komaru.

<Nakago - Tang>
The Tang is Ubu(original) and has Sujigai file marks. Nakago end is Iriyamagata shape.

<Habaki-Metal collar>
Solid copper single piece Habaki in Shonai style.

<Koshirae - Mountings>
please check the detail pictures.

Tsuba: Round iron base Sukasi Tsuba with a motif of Aoi(Hollyhock).
Fuchi Kashira: Iron base Higo style Nunome-zogan with arabesque and cherry blossom inlay.
Kojiri : Iron base Higo style Nunome-zogan with arabesque and cherry blossom inlay.
Menuki: Engraved wild boar.
Tsuka: Covered with ray skin with Oyatsubu and wrapped with black suede in Morohineri-maki style.
Saya: Kuroro - black lacquerer finish. ** there are some dents on the surface of Saya.

<Blade Condition>
Polish: Relatively good.
Defects such as openings, chips and cracks: There is a minor Ware around 7cm above Habaki-moto.
