<Swordsmith and sword feature>
Swordsmith Kunihito 國仁, real name Ueta Norihito 上田載仁, was born in 1947 and currently uses name " Sukesada 祐定" for Mei.
He studied martial art in high school. Although he went into business after college, he decided to become a swordsmith in his early 20s.
He then learned under smith Imaizumi Toshimitsu 今泉俊光 who was an Important Intangible Cultural Asset of Okayama, and Mukansa smith Kawachi Kunihira 河内國平.
After being an indipendant swordsmith, he spent more than 30 years studying sword forging as well as raw materials for Japanese Katana - especially sand iron. He makes own Tamahagane by traditional Tatara Seitetsu with sand iron which he collects in Japan. He has been determined to pursue excelent Japanese swords which is not only beautiful but also capable for practical use - " Real Japanese swords which won't bend, crack nor break".
He is now in his 60s, he still forges wonderful Katana at the same time has been an active leader of Bizen Osafune school.

This sword was made in 1996 which was a joint work with Bizen Yamamoto Kuninori 山本國典.
The wide, thick and freshly polished blade will make a beautiful, an ideal Tameshigiri sword by fitting a new Koshirae. **The blade was shortened by 6mm at Togi.
The blade is quite wide and has Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune. The curve is Toriizori style and the blade top is Nakamine.
<Hada - Forging>
The jihada (body of the sword) is an Itame mixed with Masa and coarse Jinie(darkish crystal)granule attaches on the surface.
<Hamon - Temper patterns>
The Hamon is Gunome Midare with brilient nie white crystals attaches on the cutting edge.
Boshi- temper line of the tip is Notarekomi and turns back to a gentle curl called Komaru.
<Nakago - Tang>
The Tang is Ubu(original) and has Sujichigai file marks. Nakago end is Haagari(irregular) Kurijiri shape.
Solid silver single piece Habaki with Yujo pattern.
<Koshirae - Mountings>
Polish: Freshly polished.
Defects such as openings, chips and cracks: There are a few Kokizu(please see the pictures below) however they won't affect Tameshigiri.
