<Swordsmith and sword feature>
Seki Ju Kanetoki 関住兼時, real name "Kojima Kanji 小島寛二" was born in Taisho 14 (1925) as a son of famous Mino swordsmith " Kanemichi 兼道". He entered Watanabe Kanenaga's 渡辺兼永 forging scool and later he took the name Kanetoki.
Mino Kojima Kanemichi (2nd)小島兼道 is his son and current Kojima Kanetoki is his grand son who both are active leaders of Association of preservation of Mino forging as well as awards winning contemporary swordsmiths.
This sword has a light weight with Bohi and its balance is wonderful to make an ideal Iai Shinken.
Despite many Hike(light scratches), the blade condition is good and no serious defects were found.
We'd like to offer this good Iai Shinken to our customers with a very reasonable price, considering a Togi(professional polishing) will help in bringing back its original beautiful Hada and Hamon. We will gladly arrange a Togi with a cost of 100,000yen for this Seki master's sword.
It has an ordinary blade weight and a width, Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune. The curve is Toriizori style and the blade top is Nakamine.
There are Katachiri Bohi(thick groove which extends to shinogi,leaves flat space only on Mune side) on both side of the blade.
<Hada - Forging>
The jihada (body of the sword) is a Itame mixed with Mokume.
It shows a beautiful Jigane color and coarse Jinie(darkish crystal)granule attaches on the surface.
<Hamon - Temper patterns>
The Hamon is Notare based Gunome Midare with brilient nie white crystals attaches on the cutting edge while Ashi appears.
Boshi- temper line of the tip is Midarekomi(wavy), Saki Togari and turns back to a gentle curl called Komaru.
