<Swordsmith & Sword feature >
Munehiro 宗弘, real name So Yasuhiro 宗康弘 was born in 1905 and was a disciple of swordsmith Komiya Shiro Kunimitsu(the 1st generation).
His son So Tsutomu 宗勉 is also a renown modern day Mukansa Japanese swordsmith.
This outstanding Kiyomaro Utsushi sword seemed to be forged by his son "So Tsutomu 宗勉"(Daiuchi), judging from the date of Mei and its characteristic Hamon and Ji.
It sure is a wonderful collectible piece, at the same time it is an ideal Iai Shinken with its excellent balance which gives users a very light feel.
It has an ordinary blade weight and a width, Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune. The curve is Toriizori style and the blade top is Omine.
There are Katachiri Bohi(thick groove which extends to shinogi,leaves flat space only on Mune side) on both side of the blade.
<Hada - Forging Pattern>
It has a tight Itame hada with some streaming tendencies with Chikei and coarse Jinie granule attaches on the surface.
<Hamon - Tempering pattern>
The Hamon is Gunome Choji with brilient nie white crystals attaches abundantly on the cutting edge.
Kinsuji(golden line) runs through along the temper line as well as Ginsuji(whitish silver line) showing up along the cutting edge.
Boshi- temper line of the tip is Midarekomi(wavy) with rich Hakikake activities and turns back to a gentle curl called Komaru.
<Nakago - Tang>
The Tang is Ubu(original) and has Kesho(decorative) file marks. Nakago end is Kurijiri shape.

Tsuba: Fine antique round iron base tsuba with plum and pine tree design in open work.
Fuchi Kashira & Kojiri: Iron base Higo style Nunome-Zogan set with a design of arabesque.
Menuki: Engraved deer and maple tree.
Tsuka: Covered with black dyed ray skin with Oyatsubu and wrapped with black leather in Morohineri- maki style.
Saya: lacquered in black with a stone texture finish.
Polish: In good condition.
Defects such as openings, chips and cracks: None.
