Seki Ju Kanetoki 関住兼時(first generation), real name "Kojima Kanji 小島寛二" was born in Taisho 14 (1925) as a son of famous Mino swordsmith " Kanemichi"兼道(first gen.). He entered Watanabe Kanenaga's 渡辺兼永 forging scool and later he took the name Kanetoki.
Mino Kojima Kanemichi (2nd)小島兼道 is his son and current Kojima Kanetoki is his grand son who both are active leaders of Association of preservation of Mino forging as well as awards winning contemporary swordsmiths.
The first Kanetoki was also a respected representative swordsmith with his numerous awords -a Shorei-sho, 2 Doryoku-sho and 21 Nyusen.
This sword seems to have being custom made by Noshudo and the condition is almost new - an unused piece .
It is a recommendable Iai shinken with a fine balance and a light weight.
It has an ordinary blade width and weigh, Shinogi zukuri, Iori mune, Torii-sori and the top is Nakanime.
There are Katachiri Bohi(thick groove which extends to shinogi,leaves flat space only on Mune side) on both side of the blade.
<Hada - Forging Pattern>
The clear, bright silver color Hada is Itame combined with mokume in company with coarse Jinie granule attaches on the surface.
<Hamon - Tempering pattern>
The Hamon is Notare based Gunome Midare (irregular half -round temper patterns) and white crystals(nie) shows up along the cutting edge while Ashi are stacked in the yakiba.
Boshi is midarekomi, sakitogari and turns back to Komaru - Iregular temper pattern continues to kissaki(the point) and turns back to a gentle curl called Komaru.
<Nakago - Tang>
It is a Ubu tang and has Takanoha -hawk feather pattern file marks. Nakago end is Kurijiri shape.
One layer(piece) silver base Habaki with a Botan Yujo pattern .
<Koshirae - Mountings>

Tsuba: Round iron base tsuba with engraved arrowheads as well as in open work.
Fuchi Kashira: Engraved arrowheads, silver base.
Kojiri: Engraved arrowheads, silver base .
Menuki: Engraved arrowheads, silver base.
Tsuka: Coverd with ray skin with Oyatsubu and wrapped with black pure silk in Morohineri maki style.
Saya: lacquered in black - Kuroro.
Polish: In very good condition.
Defects such as openings, chips and cracks: None.
